Reviews Overview

Most Liked

Patrons consistently rave about the generous portion sizes, especially on the children's menu, which offers delightful options suited for young tastes.

The Portuguese dishes shine alongside traditional fish and chips, making it a unique hybrid dining experience. Especially recommended are the grilled Bacalhau and crispy fried white bait.

The community atmosphere and friendly service stand out, with staff often remembered for their warmth and attention to detail; Paula, for example, has garnered appreciation for her outstanding service.

The affordable drinks, including a house white at just £3.90, enhance the dining experience by pairing beautifully with the flavorful dishes.

Diners appreciate the option for takeaway or dine-in, making it accessible for everyone.

Most Disliked

Some diners mention that the restaurant's exterior might not reflect the quality and type of cuisine offered, potentially deterring first-time visitors.

A few patrons found the menu selection somewhat limited, especially for those seeking a wide variety of traditional British fish and chips, though most agree the quality outweighs the quantity.

The location being a bit off the main drag can make it less convenient for spontaneous visits; a little planning might be necessary to find this hidden gem.

Few guests noted that while the restaurant is wheelchair accessible, the atmosphere can get bustling during peak times, which might be challenging for individuals prefering quieter dining experiences.

It looks and sounds like just an average fish and chips but it's actually also Portuguese food and drinks (wine and beer inc) good value for money, nice atmosphere, will be coming back. My daughter liked her fish and chips too, nice large portion for a child menu item.

Came for a meal here with my wife. It's labelled as a fish and chip takeaway and whilst they might do that I only see it as a Portuguese restaurant and a fantastic one at that. The service was brilliant, many thanks to Paula, she was outstanding, friendly, helpful and honest. The choice of dishes wasn't huge but all the ones we had tasted perfect. Very reasonably priced (slightly selling themselves short if I'm honest because the bill was alot less than we expected). Very Portuguese vibe to the place. Would highly recommend a visit here.

It’s a hidden gem (a bit away from train station and high street) that shouldn’t be missed. It looks like an outdated local fish and chip place from the outside. Actually run by a Portuguese couple. The grilled Bacalhau and fired white Bait are one of the best I have tired from around the world. The price is unbelievable affordable. A house white (full glass) just £3.9. Don’t miss it if you travel to Eastbourne.

Every time we go to Eastbourne we always eat here. Variety of home cooked Portuguese cuisine and some English dishes. Generous portion size and they serve lovely wine and coffee! The owners are happy, down to earth people and maybe that’s their secret to their food, they cook with all their heart!

Portuguese food away from Portugal. The cook makes the dish fresh and on the spot. The fish and the octopus tastes fresh and flavourful. The lovely lady who assisted us is genuinely friendly, helpful and very nice. We came back twice for the sumptuous meal and for the great service.

Looking for somewhere to eat at 845pm in Eastbourne there are not many places... This is one of the last. Lovely owners were very welcoming and no photos are needed.. Food was scrummy yummy. Chips were perfect!! Me, my mum, the missus and our boy stopped in for a late bite to eat. Never judge a book by it's cover. 5 stars all day. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
